Terms of Service
Last updated 5 September 2026
The terms you and Pixel Retouching are both working to: what we will edit, what it costs, how long it takes, what happens when something is wrong, and who owns the files at the end.
About these terms
These terms apply when you send us images to edit, whether that is three images on a free trial or a catalogue of forty thousand. Using the service means you accept them.
They are written to be read. Where something matters — money, deadlines, what you can ask us to redo — we have tried to say it in the plainest words available rather than the safest ones.
What we do
Pixel Retouching is a photo editing and retouching studio. We work on product, apparel, jewellery, portrait and property photography, including clipping paths, background removal, ghost mannequin, colour correction, shadow creation, retouching and restoration.
Every image is edited by a person. We do not run your files through an automated filter and call it retouching, which is why we will sometimes tell you that a shot cannot be saved rather than return something that only looks edited.
The free trial
Three images, edited free, no card and no obligation. The trial exists so you can judge our work on your own photographs rather than on our portfolio.
- It is one trial per client, not per order.
- Trial images are edited to the same standard as paid work. If a piece needs several hours of high-end retouching we will tell you and quote for it rather than rush it.
- Submitting a trial creates an account for you automatically, so you can see the result and the messages about it in one place.
- There is nothing to cancel. If you do not come back, nothing happens.
Pricing and quotes
Our published rates start from $0.30 an image and are listed on the price list. They are starting prices for standard complexity, not a fixed tariff.
What moves the price:
- Fine edges — hair, fur, chains, filigree, transparent or reflective surfaces
- The number of separate objects or paths in one frame
- Damage or missing detail, on restoration work
- Turnaround, if you need it faster than standard
- Volume, which moves the price down: past 100 images the rate drops by up to half
There is no minimum order. Where a job is not standard we quote before starting, usually within a few hours of seeing the images, and that quote is the price. We do not add anything to it afterwards.
Placing an order
You will need an account, which is created for you the first time you send us anything. Orders are placed by uploading files with a brief, or by sending a cloud link if the set is large.
A written brief on the first order is worth the ten minutes it takes. We turn it into a spec sheet and hold it across every batch after that, which is what keeps a catalogue consistent.
Files you send us
We accept JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PSD and RAW from any camera. Individual uploads are capped; for anything larger, send a Dropbox or Google Drive link instead.
By sending us images you confirm you have the right to have them edited. We will not work on:
- Images you do not own or have no licence to alter
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form
- Material that incites violence or hatred, or promotes terrorism
- Anything unlawful in Singapore or Bangladesh
We will refuse work of this kind, and where the law requires it we will report it.
We will also decline an edit that would misrepresent a product — inventing sparkle in a stone that is not there, or a colour the physical item does not have. It is your listing that carries the return, and we would rather tell you than let it happen.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is 24 hours from the point we have your files and a clear brief. Larger sets and complex retouching take longer, and we will tell you how long before we start rather than after.
Faster turnaround is available for an additional fee. Ask when you send the work, not after.
Revisions
Revisions are unlimited and free until the edit matches the brief. That is the commitment, and it is why we ask for a clear brief in the first place.
Two things sit outside it, and it is fairer to name them than to argue about them later:
- A changed brief is new work. Asking for a different background than the one you specified is a new instruction, not a correction, and we will quote for it.
- Once you take the source file, revisions end. If you have the layered PSD you can change anything yourself, and we have no way of knowing what has been altered since.
Ask for revisions within 30 days of delivery, while we still hold the working files.
Payment
Prices are quoted in US dollars. We accept PayPal, Payoneer, credit and debit cards, and bank transfer, and you can pay in your own currency where your provider supports it.
We invoice on delivery and payment is due on the next working day. Files are released once payment clears. Taxes are added according to where you are, and shown on the invoice rather than folded into the rate.
Refunds
If revisions cannot get an image right, you do not pay for that image. That is the guarantee, and it is deliberately simpler than a refund window.
Beyond that: ask within 7 days of delivery. We cannot refund an image once you have taken its source file, for the same reason we cannot revise it.
Ownership and confidentiality
Your images stay yours. We claim no rights over anything you send us or anything we return. Editing does not give us a licence to it.
We will not show your work without permission. Nothing goes into our portfolio, our social accounts or a case study unless you have agreed to it. If you would like a signed NDA before sending anything, ask and we will sign yours.
Our own content — this site, our portfolio, our sample work — remains ours, and copying it is not permitted.
How your files are stored and how long we keep them is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Cancellation
Cancel before we start and there is nothing to pay. Cancel partway through and you pay for what has been completed.
We may decline or stop work — and close an account — where the terms above are broken, where files are unlawful, or where an account is being used to abuse our staff. Where we cancel and no work has been done, you pay nothing.
Liability
We are responsible for the editing work we do. Where an image is wrong, we fix it or you do not pay for it.
We are not responsible for the original photography, for how an image performs on a marketplace, or for losses beyond the value of the work itself. Keep your own copies of everything you send us — we delete working files 30 days after delivery, and we cannot be the only place your originals exist.
Changes to these terms
These terms change from time to time and the date at the top changes with them. Work already in progress is covered by the terms that applied when you placed the order.
