The service

What Is Amazon Product Photo Editing?

The edits that take a studio frame to a file Amazon will accept and rank: a hand-drawn cut-out on pure white, the product filling the frame, accurate colour and the right pixel dimensions. Pixel Retouching provides Amazon product photo editing finished by hand in Adobe Photoshop, with a named retoucher responsible for every batch.

Pure white, not near-white

Amazon requires RGB 255,255,255 on the main image. Anything close but not exact is what gets a listing flagged, and it is invisible on most monitors.

85% frame fill

The product has to occupy at least 85% of the frame. Getting this right is the difference between a legible thumbnail and one buyers scroll past.

Main and secondary images

The main image follows the strict rules; secondary, lifestyle and infographic slots do not. We edit the whole suite to the right standard for each.

Consistent across the catalogue

Your style guide is recorded once and applied to every batch, so a category page reads as one shoot months apart.

How it works

How Our Amazon Photo Editing Process Works

Four steps from raw frames to listing-ready files, with no account setup in between.

Step 01

Send your files

JPEG, PNG, TIFF or RAW by upload link, Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer or straight to your FTP.

Step 02

Manual editing

A named retoucher paths, cleans, colour-corrects and sizes each frame by hand in Photoshop.

Step 03

Compliance check

A second editor checks background, frame fill, dimensions and colour against Amazon’s specification.

Step 04

Delivery

Files return within 24 hours, sized for Amazon. Revisions are unlimited.

What we edit

Our Amazon Product Photo Editing Services

Every operation that goes into a compliant Amazon listing image, from the clipping path to the final crop. Drag any slider to see the real file, before and after.

Before After

Pure White Background Removal

The background is cut away by hand and replaced with the exact RGB 255,255,255 Amazon requires on a main image. Near-white backgrounds are the single most common reason a listing image is rejected.

  • Exact RGB 255,255,255 white
  • Hand-drawn path, never automated
  • Negative space cut out properly
  • Transparent PNG supplied alongside

Product Clean-up: Dust, Glare & Marks

Dust, fingerprints, scratches and studio glare are removed and dents evened out, while genuine material texture is kept. The listing shows new stock rather than the sample that went through the studio.

  • Dust, lint and fingerprints removed
  • Hotspots and glare knocked back
  • Real material texture retained
  • Labels kept legible at zoom

Shadow & Reflection Creation

A natural drop or mirror reflection so the product sits on a surface instead of floating. Depth is set once for your account and held across the catalogue.

  • Drop, cast or mirror reflection
  • Depth set once, held catalogue-wide
  • For secondary and A+ images
  • Product grounded, never floating

Colour Correction & Variants

Product colour matched to the physical item, with white balance and studio cast corrected. One shot can also be recoloured into every variant you sell, so a colourway does not need its own reshoot.

  • Colour matched to the real product
  • White balance and cast corrected
  • One shoot, every colourway
  • Fewer colour-related returns

Packaging & Box Retouching

Retail cartons, sleeves and boxes cleaned up and squared on compliant white. Print artwork is kept sharp and brand colour held exactly, so the packaging reads as new rather than as a shipped sample.

  • Creases and shipping scuffs removed
  • Edges squared, perspective corrected
  • Print artwork kept crisp
  • Brand colour held exactly

Lifestyle & Scene Blending

The product composited into a real setting for the secondary slots, with light, shadow and reflections matched to the scene. Amazon does not allow this on the main image, and rewards it on the rest.

  • Product composited into a scene
  • Light and shadow matched
  • For secondary and A+ slots
  • No reshoot required

Infographic & A+ Content

Feature callouts, icons and benefit copy laid over the product for A+ modules and secondary images. This is the slot that answers the questions a buyer would otherwise leave the page to resolve.

  • Feature callouts and icons
  • Typeset to your brand
  • Sized for A+ modules
  • Legible at thumbnail size

Dimension & Size Callouts

Height, width, depth and weight annotated directly on the product so scale is unambiguous. Size confusion is one of the most avoidable causes of returns and one-star reviews.

  • Measured callouts on the frame
  • Metric and imperial
  • Consistent style across a range
  • Cuts size-related returns

Jewellery & Small-Item Macro

Macro work where dust and reflections dominate the edit: stones cleaned and sharpened, metal evened out, and the piece kept true to how it looks in the hand.

  • Dust and lint cleared at macro
  • Stones sharpened, not over-cut
  • Metal reflections evened
  • True-to-life colour held

Why it converts

Why Amazon Image Quality Decides the Sale

On Amazon the image is the listing. Everything else on the page is read after the buyer has already decided to click.

Compliance keeps you listed

Amazon suppresses listings whose main image breaks the background, frame fill or dimension rules. Meeting the specification is not presentation, it is availability.

The thumbnail wins the click

Your image competes at postage-stamp size against a full page of others. A clean cut-out on white reads instantly; a cluttered frame does not.

Zoom sells the detail

Amazon enables zoom above a pixel threshold. A file that survives being enlarged answers the questions that otherwise become pre-purchase doubt.

Colour accuracy cuts returns

A product that arrives a different shade than the listing showed is the most avoidable return there is, and the one most likely to end in a poor review.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly are Amazon’s product photo requirements?

The main image needs a pure white background at RGB 255,255,255, the product filling at least 85% of the frame, no borders, watermarks, logos or promotional text, and a longest side of at least 1,000 pixels so zoom is enabled. Secondary images are far less restricted and can carry lifestyle scenes, infographics and text.

How do I send you my product images?

By our upload portal, Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer — whichever suits you. We accept JPEG, PNG, TIFF and RAW from any camera, and for high volume we can connect directly to your FTP server.

How long does Amazon product photo editing take?

Standard turnaround is 24 hours for most orders, and 24–48 hours for complex or high-volume work. For catalogue projects above 500 images we agree a delivery timeline upfront and meet it. Rush and same-day editing is available.

Can you edit clothing photos for Amazon?

Yes, apparel is one of our core categories. We provide ghost mannequin (invisible mannequin) editing, flat-lay retouching and on-model work, all delivered on the pure white background Amazon requires for the main image.

Do you offer bulk pricing for large catalogues?

Yes. Pricing scales with volume: orders of 10 or more images qualify for discounted custom pricing, and orders above 100 images qualify for discounts of up to 50%. Send a representative sample and we quote the whole batch upfront.

Can you handle main, secondary and A+ images?

Yes. We edit the full suite — the strict white-background main image, secondary lifestyle and infographic slots, and A+ content modules — each to the standard that slot allows.

Will my images pass Amazon’s automated checks?

That is what the compliance step exists for. A second editor verifies background value, frame fill, dimensions and file size against Amazon’s published specification before anything is delivered. If a listing is ever flagged for an image we supplied, we fix it at no cost.

Can you remove props, stands and watermarks?

Yes. Stands, rigs, price tags, stickers, watermarks and third-party branding are all removed. Amazon prohibits promotional text, borders and logos on the main image, so these have to come out.

Do you deliver layered PSD files?

Yes, on request. A flattened JPEG or TIFF is standard, and we can supply the layered PSD alongside it so your team can adjust the file in-house later.

Is there a minimum order?

No. You can send a single image, or start with the free trial of three products. There is no minimum quantity and no sign-up required.

What if I am not happy with the edited images?

Revisions are unlimited on every order. Tell us what needs to change and we keep working until it is right. If revisions still do not resolve the issue, a money-back guarantee applies.

Is my product imagery kept confidential?

Yes. Unreleased product photography is treated as confidential by default, files are not used in our portfolio without written permission, and we will sign your NDA on request.
