Trusted by Brands, Studios & Retailers
Apparel labels, marketplace sellers and product photographers send mixed-lighting frames and get one consistent, true-to-product colour back the next working day. Consistency across a whole catalogue is where Pixel Retouching pulls ahead of a preset or a batch filter.
What Is Colour Correction?
Colour correction makes a photograph show the product’s real colour: white balance set properly, colour casts from the studio or the room removed, and every frame in the range brought into agreement. Pixel Retouching provides colour correction finished by hand in Photoshop, with a named retoucher on every batch.
Accurate, not stylised
The target is the physical product, not a look. If the jumper is olive, the listing shows olive under any monitor.
Casts removed at source
Tungsten warmth, fluorescent green and daylight blue are corrected rather than masked with a filter over the top.
One colour across the range
The same garment shot on three days under three lights ends up as one colour on the category page.
Fewer returns
Colour is one of the most common reasons a product goes back. Getting it right on the listing is cheaper than processing the return.
How Our Colour Correction Service Works
Four steps from a mixed-lighting batch to one consistent, true-to-product colour.
Send your files
JPEG, PNG, TIFF or RAW. RAW is best for correction because it holds the most colour information.
Set the reference
A grey card, a swatch, a physical sample or an approved image — whatever defines correct for you.
Correct and match
White balance, exposure and cast fixed per frame, then every image matched to the reference.
Delivery
Files return within 24 hours in your colour space and sizes. Revisions are unlimited.
Our Colour Correction Services
Most batches need two or three of these together. Drag any slider to compare.
White Balance Correction
The base of every other correction. Tungsten warmth, fluorescent green and daylight blue are neutralised so whites are white and the product colour sits where it should.
- Neutral whites and greys restored
- Studio and mixed-lighting casts removed
- Skin and fabric tone kept natural
- From $0.50 an image
Colour Cast Removal
Colour bleeding onto the product from a coloured wall, a reflector or a nearby surface, removed selectively without flattening the rest of the frame.
- Bounced colour lifted off the product
- Correction applied selectively, not globally
- Shadows kept neutral rather than tinted
- From $0.50 an image
Colour Matching to a Sample
Matching the image to the physical product, a fabric swatch, a Pantone reference or an already-approved photograph, so what ships matches what was shown.
- Matched to a physical sample or reference
- Approved colour reused across the range
- Critical for apparel, paint and cosmetics
- From $0.99 an image
Catalogue Colour Consistency
The same product photographed across several days and several lighting setups, brought to one colour so the category page does not shift as a shopper scrolls.
- One reference applied across the whole set
- Shot-to-shot variation removed
- Works across multiple suppliers and shoots
- From $0.99 an image
Exposure & Contrast Correction
Underexposed, flat or blown frames recovered so detail returns in the shadows and highlights without the image looking processed.
- Shadow and highlight detail recovered
- Contrast set without crushing the blacks
- Noise controlled on high-ISO frames
- More on our photo enhancement service
Correction Before Recolouring
Correction and colour change are different jobs. We correct first so the base is honest, then build variants from it if you need every colourway from one shoot.
- Accurate base before any variant is made
- Variants inherit correct light and texture
- Avoids compounding an existing cast
- See our colour change service
Colour Correction for Every Category
Some categories are punished harder than others for getting colour wrong.
Apparel
The category with the highest colour-related return rate. Fabric colour has to be right.
Jewellery
Gold, rose gold and silver read as different metals if the white balance drifts.
Cosmetics
Shade names mean nothing if the swatch on screen is not the shade in the tube.
Furniture
Wood tone and upholstery colour decide whether a piece suits a room.
Paint & materials
Sold entirely on colour, so the reference has to be exact rather than close.
Footwear
Mixed materials in one shot, each reflecting light differently.
Food & beverage
Appetite depends on warmth being right without tipping into orange.
Electronics
Neutral greys and blacks show every cast immediately.
Who Uses Our Colour Correction Service
Anyone whose customers complain that the colour looked different online.

Catalogue & print teams

High-volume correction with one reference across every SKU.
Resellers
Mixed-source photography unified into one honest colour.
Why Colour Is the Most Expensive Thing to Get Wrong
Every other edit can be forgiven. Colour gets the product sent back.
Colour drives returns
“Not the colour I expected” is one of the most common reasons a product is returned. The listing photograph is what set that expectation, and correcting it is far cheaper than processing the return.
The camera does not see neutral
Every light source has a cast. Without correction a white shirt photographed under tungsten is warm, under fluorescent is green, and neither is the shirt the customer receives.
Shot-to-shot drift is visible
The same product photographed on two days will not match. On a category page those two frames sit side by side, and the inconsistency reads as carelessness.
Correction is not recolouring
Correcting means making the image honest. Recolouring means deliberately making a variant. Doing the second without the first just bakes an existing cast into every colourway.
Our Colour Correction Workflow
The same four stages run on a three-image trial and a four-thousand-image catalogue.
- 01
Establish the reference
A grey card, a swatch, a physical sample or an approved frame. Without a reference, correct is only an opinion.
- 02
Neutralise
White balance set, casts removed, exposure and contrast brought to a sensible base.
- 03
Match the set
Every frame matched to the reference and to each other, then checked side by side.
- 04
Deliver
Exported in your colour space and sizes, with a print-ready version where needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is colour correction in photo editing?
It is the process of making a photograph show the product’s real colour. White balance is set correctly, colour casts from the lighting or the room are removed, and exposure is brought to a neutral base — so what a customer sees on the listing is what arrives in the box.
What is the difference between colour correction and colour change?
Correction makes the colour accurate. Change makes it different — producing a red variant from a blue photograph, for example. They are separate jobs and we always correct first, so any variant is built on an honest base. See our colour change service.
Can you match my product to a physical sample?
Yes. Send a swatch reference, a Pantone code or an already-approved image and we match to it, then apply that same reference across the rest of the range so the whole set agrees.
Do you need a grey card or colour checker in the shot?
It helps and it makes the result faster and more exact, but it is not essential. If there is no reference in the frame we work from a physical sample, an approved image, or the most neutral element available.
Should I send RAW or JPEG?
RAW where possible. It holds far more colour information, so white balance can be reset properly rather than corrected after the fact. JPEG, PNG and TIFF are all accepted and handled routinely.
Can you fix colour across images shot on different days?
That is one of the most common reasons clients come to us. Every frame is matched to a single reference, so a range photographed across several sessions under different light ends up as one consistent colour on the category page.
How much does colour correction cost?
Basic correction and cast removal start at $0.50 an image. Matching to a physical sample and full catalogue consistency start at $0.99. A complete eCommerce-ready edit including background and shadow starts at $1.50.
How fast is the turnaround?
Standard turnaround is 24 hours. Bulk catalogue work runs to an agreed staged schedule, and rush delivery is available for an additional fee. Revisions are unlimited.
