Platforms and Formats We Size For

Amazon: the crop is a compliance rule
Pure white at RGB 255, 255, 255, the product filling at least 85% of the frame, and a longest side of 1,600 pixels or more so buyers keep the zoom. Amazon checks main images automatically, which makes this the one destination where a crop decision is the difference between a live listing and a suppressed one, rather than a matter of taste.
Shopify: square, and identical across the grid
2,048 × 2,048 squares, which is what Shopify’s own guidance recommends and what holds up on a high-DPI screen. Shopify enforces nothing, so the discipline has to come from the files: the same padding around every product and the same shadow depth, because a collection grid where the products change size as you scroll is what makes a store look assembled rather than designed.
eBay and Etsy: low floors, different shapes
eBay enforces only 500 pixels on the longest side and merely recommends white; Etsy displays at 4:3, suggests around 2,700 × 2,025, and has no background rule at all. Neither floor is close to what competes, so both are worked at 1,600 pixels and up — and Etsy is cropped for its own re-cropping rather than centred and hoped for.
Social: three shapes from one master
Square, 4:5 portrait and 9:16 vertical cover Instagram, TikTok, Stories and Reels, and 2:3 covers Pinterest. Cropping each from the same master rather than letting the platform do it is the whole point: automatic cropping is centre-weighted and will take the top off a bottle or cut a model at the chin. Where a subject will not survive all three, we say so rather than shipping a bad 9:16.
Property portals: fixed ratios, overnight
Listing portals and MLS feeds expect a consistent landscape ratio and reject or letterbox anything else, which turns an interior shot with the ceiling in it into wasted frame. Crops are set to the portal you actually list on and applied across the shoot, returned overnight so an agent can publish the following morning.
Print: a different colour space, same master
CMYK-ready TIFF at print resolution, cut from the same master file as the web set and never edited separately. Editing print and web independently is how a catalogue page and a product listing end up as two different colours of the same jumper, and it is not a mistake anyone finds until both have been produced.

The moment a product is on two marketplaces, their specifications contradict each other — a background rule here, a different ratio there, a resolution floor somewhere else. What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
Cropping removes part of the frame and changes what the image contains. Resizing changes the pixel dimensions without changing what is in the frame. Most orders need both: a crop for composition, then several sizes exported from it.
Can you resize without losing quality?
Downsizing keeps quality as long as each output size gets its own sharpening pass, which is what we do. Enlarging is limited by the original — moderate increases hold up well, large ones do not, and we tell you which case yours is before you order.
Do you know each marketplace’s requirements?
Yes, and it is the most common reason clients use this service. Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and the main property portals each have their own dimensions, ratios and file size limits, and we hold those specifications.
Can you produce multiple sizes from one image?
Yes, and it is the standard order. Send one master and your list of destinations, and every size comes back in one delivery, named and foldered to your convention.
Do you handle bulk cropping and resizing?
Yes. Capacity runs to 8,000 images a day and your specification is recorded per account, so a batch six months later comes back to exactly the same sizes and naming.

What if the crop is not what I wanted?
